The Yodeler’s Christmas

passive agressively, in the holiday spirit
PDF | Midi Mp3

This song, which, accurately, warns of the dangers of befriending a yodeler — especially around the holidays — saw its debut at Nino’s Steak & Seafood, on December 21, 2010, at a solo gig that my Mom booked for me playing at the annual Christmas luncheon of the American Association of Retired Persons, Sheboygan, Wisconsin (Chapter 338).

The PDF song sheet has a second page with suggested yodels for the solo parts, arranged in order of increasing (but still manageable) difficulty (because of the meter/key change, these necessarily sound a little weird in the midi playthrough — you’ll live, trust me).

For reference, here’s the Orchestra and I performing the song local and live on WMSE in Milwaukee in February 2014 (and, in Feburary, getting a good jump on the 2014 holiday season).

And then here’s some home and hearth video of a run-through of this song from November 2013.
